The JV Bulldogs lost the first game of the season to the Elba Tigers. To start the game the Bulldogs were on offense where Markelis Hobdy had a long run to help set up the first Bulldog touchdown. Ian Foster ran the ball in a quarterback keeper to give the Bulldogs a 6-0 lead with 7:03 to go in the first quarter. With 5:00 to go in the first Elba lost the ball and Foster was able to recover the ball for the Bulldogs. Virgil Thompson broke away from a host of Tigers to pick up a first down for the Bulldogs. Markelis Hobdy ran the ball for another Bulldogs touchdown with 1:56 to go in the first quarter. The 2 point conversion was good by Foster giving the Bulldogs a 14-0 lead. Reggie Burney intercepted the ball for the Bulldogs with 15.6 seconds to go in the 1st quarter and Markelis Hobdy was able to intercept another ball as the time ran out in the 2nd quarter. The Elba Tigers were able to score 34 points in the second half in order to pick up the win over the Bulldogs. The JV football team will travel to take on Barbour County next Tuesday in Clayton.
