The Bulldogs picked up a huge Area victory tonight over Providence Christian in order to improve to 4-0 in the Area. The first possessions for both teams resulted in punts. With 4:45 to go in first Providence Christian scored a touchdown and made the PST to give the Eagles 0-7 lead over the Bulldogs. With 1:35 to go in first quarter Rayshawn Reynolds scores on rushing touchdown. Julius Allen made the PAT. The first quarter would come to an end as the score remained 7-7.
Providence Christian would score a rushing touchdown with 7:50 to go in the second quarter. PAT is good giving the Eagles the edge over the Bulldogs. 7-14. The Bulldog defense would dig deep in order to come up with a goal line stand as Providence Christian went for the touchdown with 6 seconds to go in the half. The Bulldogs would trail 7-14 at halftime.
As the third quarter began the Bulldogs would receive the ball and slowly drive the ball down the field eating time off the clock. With 4 minutes to go in 3rd the Bulldogs scored as Jaidyn Wilson spotted Rayshawn Reynolds in the end zone. The PAT was no good as it hit goal post and bounced back. The Bulldogs would close to within one, 13-14 as the third quarter ended.
The Bulldogs will have ball to start 4th quarter. Jaidyn Wilson would score on a quarterback keeper as a whole opened up in the center with 7:17 to go in game. The 2 point conversion pass no good. The Bulldogs would take the first lead of the game 19-14. Pike COunty’s, Ben Myhand, would come up with a momentum shifting interception with 3:14 left to play in the game. This would set up the touchdown run by Rayshawn Reynolds with 2:41 left to go in the game. This would give the Bulldogs a 25-14 point lead. Providence Christian tried to get something going again late in the game but the Bulldog defense proved to be too much for the Eagles. Congratulations Bulldogs for picking up the victory tonight.
